Lock settings page

Lock settings page

If you are the administrator of someone else’s website or you manage a website with other users, you can restrict access to the “Settings” page to only your user account. In effect, you “lock” other users from seeing and modifying the settings you have specified. This feature is currently only available for the Google Drive Extension and OneDrive Extension.

To achieve this, you should go to the settings page of the extension you installed on your site.

Google Drive Settings

OneDrive Settings

In the settings page, scroll down to the Security settings section and check the box for “Lock this page for all users except <your-username>

Once you click on the “Update” button to save the changes, only you will have access to this settings page. When another user(including administrators) logs into the website, the settings page for the extension will not be visible to them.

Google Drive Extension installed, but the settings page is not visible to other users

Also, when this setting is enabled, other users importing a backup from Google Drive or OneDrive are restricted to browsing only within the selected destination folder. This prevents access to files outside of that folder, ensuring they do not view files they shouldn’t.

Thanks, this is an useful setting. What about hiding the whole Plugin for every user (without) the person who did the Settings?

It doesn’t appear that the pCloud plugin allows locking. Is that on the roadmap?

Also, I see that “When importing documents from Google Drive, users cannot browse folders outside of the selected destination folder.” Is that true for OneDrive, pCloud and other sources?
